Join Waimānalo Elementary & Intermediate School and the Kōkua Hawai‘i Foundation’s 3Rs School Recycling Program for a community Recycling Drive.

This event gives local residents an easy, responsible way to recycle unwanted household items, electronics, scrap metal, and more — keeping reusable materials out of Hawai‘i’s landfills.

♻️ Items Accepted:

  • Scrap Metals: Bicycles, washers, dryers, fencing, filing cabinets (no gas cylinders or microwaves)

  • Electronics: TVs, computers, printers, laptops, monitors, phones, game systems, and cords

  • Confidential Documents: Collected for shredding (limit 2 boxes per household)

  • Household Goods: New and gently used clothing, accessories, books, CDs, kitchen items, and toys

  • Cooking Oil: Sealed, leak-proof containers only (max 2 gallons per vehicle)

  • HI-5 Cans & Bottles: Aluminum, plastic, and glass beverage containers

🚫 Not Accepted: Furniture, mattresses, hazardous materials, refrigerators, AC units, leaking containers, cardboard, and non-beverage recyclables.

Synergy Salon Holiday Craft Fair and Donation Drive — November 2025

Synergy Salon is hosting a Holiday Craft Fair at Dole Cannery on Saturday, November 22, 2025, featuring local vendors, handmade crafts, and festive fun — all while giving back to the community.

This event supports Ho‘omalu Safe Haven, a nonprofit that serves children and families impacted by incarceration and homelessness. In addition to shopping and holiday festivities, the fair will collect donations for Ho‘omalu’s Christmas Gift Drive and Baby/Toddler Donations.

🎁 Christmas Gift Drive:
Donations of new, unused items are needed to fill Ho‘omalu’s Christmas Store, where at-risk keiki can “shop” for gifts for their loved ones. Suggested items include toys, books, stationery, self-care products, candles, jewelry, home décor, gift cards, and school supplies.

🍼 Baby & Toddler Donations:
Donations of baby clothes, socks, blankets, towels, diapers, wipes, and toiletries are welcomed to support single young mothers and their keiki.

All collected items will be distributed through Ho‘omalu Safe Haven’s holiday programs to spread aloha and joy across Hawai‘i this Christmas season.

Synergy Salon Holiday Craft Fair & Donation Drive- December 2025

Ho‘omalu Safe Haven continues their 2025 Holiday Donation Drives on Saturday, December 13, 2025, collecting new items to support families and keiki across Hawai‘i this Christmas season.

🎄 Christmas Gift Drive:
This annual drive helps fill Ho‘omalu’s Christmas Store, where at-risk children can “shop” for free and pick out gifts for their parents, siblings, friends, and mentors. Donations of new, unused items are needed — including stationery, self-care products, toys, books, candles, home décor, jewelry, gift cards, and school supplies. Gift wrap supplies, candy, and snacks are also welcome.

🍼 Baby & Toddler Donations:
Ho‘omalu Safe Haven is also collecting new items to support single young mothers in need of baby and toddler essentials. Requested items include baby clothes, socks, blankets, towels, diapers, wipes, and toiletries.

All donations will be distributed through Ho‘omalu Safe Haven’s holiday programs, bringing warmth, dignity, and joy to families impacted by incarceration and homelessness.

Give Thanks Mākeke — Community Food & Holiday Donation Drive

So U‘i Hawai‘i presents the Give Thanks Mākeke & Can Good Food Drive, a free community market celebrating local vendors, family fun, and the spirit of giving.

This year’s mākeke will also support Ho‘omalu Safe Haven, a nonprofit that helps children and families impacted by incarceration and homelessness. In addition to the can good food drive, the event will serve as a collection site for Ho‘omalu’s Christmas Gift Drive and Baby/Toddler Donations.
