So U‘i Hawai‘i presents the Give Thanks Mākeke & Can Good Food Drive, a free community market celebrating local vendors, family fun, and the spirit of giving.
This year’s mākeke will also support Ho‘omalu Safe Haven, a nonprofit that helps children and families impacted by incarceration and homelessness. In addition to the can good food drive, the event will serve as a collection site for Ho‘omalu’s Christmas Gift Drive and Baby/Toddler Donations.
🎁 Christmas Gift Drive:
Donations of new, unused items are welcomed to help fill Ho‘omalu’s Christmas Store, where at-risk keiki can “shop” for gifts for their loved ones. Suggested items include stationery, self-care products, toys, books, candles, home décor, jewelry, gift cards, and school supplies.
🍼 Baby & Toddler Donations:
New baby clothes, socks, blankets, towels, diapers, wipes, and toiletries are being collected to support single young mothers and their keiki.
All canned goods and gift donations will directly benefit local families through Ho‘omalu Safe Haven’s programs this holiday season.
